Resilient Futures Leadership Program

Building Cross-Sector Leadership for Sustainable Agriculture Finance

Maggie Monast () presents to 2026 Resilient Futures Cohort of Cornell Atkinson-Field to Market trainees in Atkinson Hall

Preparing Leaders to Move Sustainable Agriculture Finance from Concept to Practice

Developed jointly by Field to Market and the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability, the “Resilient Futures Leadership Program: Financing Sustainable Agriculture” is designed to foster cross-sector collaboration and build a strong alumni network. This is a six-month executive education experience for professionals working across agriculture, finance, sustainability, and the food value chain. Through intensive training, field visits, and peer learning, participants build the knowledge, tools, and relationships needed to advance sustainable agriculture finance in practice. The program was developed to help leaders across the sector to understand the agriculture value chain, evaluate sustainability metrics, navigate policy and implementation realities, and identify finance strategies that work in practice.

Applications for the 2027 cohort will open Fall 2026 — stay tuned, sign up for our newsletter, or contact us to learn more!

Cornell Atkinson’s Role

The Resilient Futures Leadership Program marked Cornell Atkinson’s first executive education offering and demonstrated the potential of partnership-based professional learning to accelerate sustainability impact.

While at Cornell’s Ithaca and NYC campuses, participants engaged with faculty and experts from across the university including the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the S.C. Johnson College of Business, highlighting the university’s interdisciplinary strengths in sustainability, agriculture, and finance.

Cornell Atkinson partnered with eCornell to support the professional learning experience, positioning the center to expand future executive education opportunities that connect research, practice, and leadership development. Participants walked away with a professional certificate from Cornell University.
