2025: Strategic Advisory Support and Decision Framework Development of Natural Climate Solutions (TBD)
This project will help decision-makers choose Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) that can cut greenhouse gases from farms, forests, and other working lands. It will focus on practices in cool, moist regions, such as adding trees to working lands and improving manure management, while considering carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide together. The researchers will use a decision matrix to compare each option by benefits, ease of measurement, cost, practicality, and time needed for lasting results. They will also advise public, private, and nonprofit partners on goals, monitoring, policy, and investment choices. The project will produce clear guidance, presentations, and public materials to support smarter climate action and more reliable long-term results.
