Charlie Tebbutt, Ph.D. Student
Attending Week 2
Charlie Tebbutt is a CALS Ph.D. student in Natural Resources and the Environment. His work in the NGO and academic sectors centers around empowering local stakeholders as agents of positive environmental change and climate mitigation. His ongoing work in sustainable construction with HYT Uganda focuses on equipping youths with climate-friendly building skills and promoting community-led tree planting in East Africa. Charlie’s PhD research at Cornell involves close collaboration with Colombian agricultural cooperatives and university partners to quantify the value of agroforestry systems for combatting climate change, restoring ecosystem connectivity, and strengthening peace. Charlie brings an eagerness both to share and to learn more about these crucial topics as a member of the Cornell Delegation for COP27.
