Smartphone app uses camera accessory to check cholesterol level

Cornell engineers have created the Smartphone Cholesterol Application for Rapid Diagnostics, or “smartCARD,” which employs your smartphone’s camera to read your cholesterol level. David Erickson, associate professor of mechanical engineering, demonstrates the technology, which is ready to be brought to market.
