Cornell University at Climate COP30

UN Climate Conference of the Parties, November 10-21 in Belém, Brazil

The 30th session of the UN Climate Conference of the Parties (COP30) will take place November 10-21, 2025 in Belém, Brazil. Cornell University’s  COP30 delegation of faculty, staff, and students will share their climate research and expertise to advance dialogue and equitable, science-based approaches with Parties and observers at the COP.

First held in Berlin in 1995, the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference serves as the meeting of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement. The conference brings together world leaders, negotiators, scientists, business leaders, and civil society activists to assess progress in addressing climate change and to strengthen collective efforts under the Paris Agreement.

At COP30, Cornell’s climate researchers and students — mobilized through The 2030 Project: A Cornell Climate Initiative and the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability — will be at the forefront of critical discussions shaping the future of global climate progress. From harnessing AI for climate mitigation, to designing a more sustainable built environment, to advancing agricultural systems that support both people and the planet, Cornell researchers are working to drive solutions that connect local innovation to global impact.

At COP30 and beyond, Cornell will contribute research-driven insights and partnerships that bridge science, policy, and law in this decisive decade for climate progress.
