Robert Lynch

Robert Lynch is a Managing Partner, Co-Founder, and Chief Risk Officer of Aristeia Capital, L.L.C., an investment management company headquartered in Greenwich, CT with offices in New York City. Aristeia manages private funds that pursue a corporate credit relative value investing strategy and is a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment.  As Aristeia’s Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Lynch is responsible for managing a team and process that creates and maintains a systematic approach to measuring, reporting, and hedging portfolio-level and select position-level exposures. Mr. Lynch is uniquely positioned to understand and identify new and existing portfolio risks given his prior experience as a distressed/credit investor, and his prior roles as head of Aristeia’s technology development and Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to co-founding Aristeia in 1997 he served as a Managing Director at Centurion Investment Group, L.P., where he evaluated investment opportunities in distressed debt, risk arbitrage, and spin-offs. Before Centurion, Mr. Lynch served as a Vice President at UBS from 1993 to 1996, where he expanded the distressed debt investing capabilities and managed a diverse portfolio of distressed bonds, bank debt, and trade claims issued by domestic and emerging market corporations.  Prior to UBS, from 1990 to 1993, Mr. Lynch was a research analyst at The Delaware Bay Company, a distressed debt brokerage boutique.

Mr. Lynch graduated from Cornell University, receiving both a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (1990) and a Master of Business Administration (1991). He has served on the Hedge Fund Subcommittee of the Cornell endowment since 2013.
